Wow! Another awesome read from Zoe Chant! I became totally infatuated with Chant's work last year after reading Bodyguard Bear, the first book in her Protection Inc Series and immediately became a fan! I fell head over heels for the concept of the series and the large cast of magnificent characters featured in each book. All of the books in this series are standalone novellas, featuring a different member of Protection Inc finding their mate and their very own happily-ever-after ending. The characters introduced in the first book make a return appearance in each subsequent book which draws the reader into the story much more quickly. They become our friends and family and without a doubt, it's one of the things I love most about this series. Chant has continued the thrilling fast-paced adventure with Protector Panther, the third release of the Protector, Inc Series and she totally knocked this one out of the park! Although each release is a standalone novella featuring a different member of the Protector, Inc team, I would highly recommend reading at least the first book, Bodyguard Bear, since it introduces the large cast comprising the Protector, Inc employees and sets up the premise for the entire series. If you enjoy this series half as much as I do, you'll be a fan for life! The story is exciting, thrilling, fast-paced, suspenseful, sweet, romantic and sexy. The narrative is exceptionally well written in the third person with alternating his and her points of view. My favorite! The dialogue is smart, entertaining, well executed and flows seamlessly. I'm also very impressed with the presentation of Chant's books. They are extremely well edited, the formatting is excellent and the covers are always beautiful. Chant excels at world building but it's her characters that take center stage in this series. Meet handsome, enigmatic panther shifter and Protection Inc employee, Shane Garrity and beautiful curvaceous paramedic, Catalina Mendez. They are captivating, intriguing, engaging and endearing. I was intrigued with Shane and his mysterious persona when he was introduced in the first book. I knew his story would be remarkable and it is! And Catalina - she's truly magnificent! Does her name sound familiar? It should! Remember Ellie McNeil, the lovely brave paramedic from the first book who mated Hal Brenner, owner of Protection Inc? Yup, that's the one. Well, Catalina is Ellie's paramedic partner and best friend. See what I mean about Chant's skilled world building and character development? The heroes are all handsome, charismatic alpha males with kind hearts carefully concealed under their strong, gruff exteriors and the heroines are beautiful, intelligent, brave women who possess remarkable strength, courage, caring and kindness. No wilting violets among these women! I love it! Chant skillfully combines these elements to craft a delightfully entertaining paranormal tale filled to the brim with heart-pounding danger, spellbinding drama, heart-stopping adventure, spine-tingling suspense, heartbreaking angst and sweet seductive romance. And folks, this book is twice as long as the first one coming in at almost 200 pages! Woo-Hoo! What did I love about this book? Everything! What didn't I like about this book? Not a darn thing! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since there are a few steamy dream love scenes. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she publishes the next book in the series!

I have to admit, I was really looking forward to both Shane and Catalina's story but I had no idea I would get both in the same book. They are absolutely perfect for each other! I loved it! I love Shane and Calatina's romance. some did not disappoint with this third edition to the Protection Inc series. Both Shane and Cat were strong willed and destined to be great. She loved cats. As it was, she was on her way to being a cat lady. But little did she know literally her world would changed and a big cat would be in her future for the rest of her life. Her other half that she realized she could never live without. I just love that Shane was able to find his best friend and buddy Red and was able to correct a wrong he thought he thought would haunt his life. I will not give up the story just pick up the book and read you will not be disappointed. I'm greedy so I want to see all of protection Inc find their mate. However, I would like for Red to become a member of Protection Inc and get with either Destiny or Fiona. That would make great story.
I liked our H from the very begining, took me longer for the h. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the story a lot, but found the writing at times to get immature for grown adults, and military to boot.
I didn'the read the previous books in the series and didn't feel lost. But, may get at least the first one in this series, because the H/have in that story were interestino in this one and I would like to read about their journey and how the security company started.
No cliffhanger, HEA and somewhat descriptive lovemaking. Others have explained the premise, so I won'the repeat it. (ljb)
I loved this one too!
The story itself between Catalina and Shane is kinda bleh.
They fall in love very quickly, but Shane is determined to protect her from their crazy captors.
Catalina isn't having it, and before too long sparks fly between them.
I loved the whole story of the government lab, and poor tortured Justin.
I hope we will be hearing Justin's story very, very soon.
More labs are mentioned during the story, and I'm hoping for either more stories from those labs or about the shifters who have escaped said labs.
I have my suspicions about someone on the team at Protection Inc, but I'll keep the speculation to myself for now.
I'll be picking up the fourth book in this series very soon!
This book was very good, had some sex scenes, kidnapping scenes, reunions, good vs bad fights & lots of cats big & small.
We met Catalina in book 1 as she was Ellie's paramedic partner as we'll as her friend. Catalina was walking down a street & passed an alleyway where she encountered a man that needed medical attention; that man was Shane who works with Hal & he was trying to get to Protection, Inc to evade the bad guys.
Shane, as soon as he got a good look at Catalina knew she was his mate but, tried not to show it or the bad guys would use that against him. He tried to discourage Catalina from helping him but resisted his tactics & they both wound up being kidnapped by the bad guys.
This is not on the story of their mating but also how Shane became a panther.
I love this series and this book. It is filled with smart, brave and capable women and equally smart, brave and honorable men. The books are long enough to provide rich character development and satisfying action, suspense and romance. They are well worth the read.
EMT Catalina Mendez just returned from a medical mission overseas and is walking toward Protection, Inc., when she spots a bloodied man lying in the edge of an alley. Shane Garrity, a Protection, Inc. bodyguard has been attacked and tranquilized. Before she can get him to safety, however, Catalina is also tranqued and they are taken to a remote black ops facility that is working to create super warriors. Shane has been there before and has escaped twice, so he knows he can do it again. But this time, he will need to take Catalina with him. And he will need to do it before Apex can change her into a shifter and inject her with an agent that will either give her super powers, or most likely kill her.
